Hi, I’m Angela!
I’m the photographer behind Velvet Boudoir Studio, and I believe every person deserves to have photographs that remind them how powerful, beautiful, and worthy they are.
I know that stepping in front of a camera—especially for a boudoir session—can feel incredibly vulnerable. That’s why creating a private, safe, welcoming, and completely judgment-free experience is just as important to me as creating beautiful images.
My job is never to make you look like someone else. It’s to help you see the beauty, personality, and confidence that are already part of who you are.
From helping you choose your outfits to guiding your poses, hands, facial expressions, and even your breathing, I’ll be right there with you through every part of your experience.
You never have to wonder whether you’re “doing it right.”
I’ll take care of the details so you can be present, have fun, and allow yourself to enjoy being celebrated.

Whether you love soft and natural, bold and glamorous, or something in between, your artist will work with you to create a look that complements your features and fits the vision for your session.
This time isn’t only about getting camera-ready. It gives you an opportunity to settle into the studio, relax, and ease into your experience before stepping in front of the camera.

CLIENT CLOSET
You don’t need to have the perfect wardrobe
Every Velvet Boudoir experience includes access to the Studio Client Closet, with carefully selected pieces available in sizes XS–6X.
The closet includes a variety of lingerie, bodysuits, robes, accessories, and statement pieces chosen to photograph beautifully on different bodies and complement a range of personal styles.
Before your session, you’ll also receive styling guidance to help you decide what to bring from home. On the day of your session, I’ll help you select pieces from the closet, put complete looks together, and choose options that make you feel incredible.
You’re never expected to figure it all out on your own.
And boudoir doesn’t have to mean traditional lingerie. An oversized sweater, a simple bodysuit, your partner’s shirt, a meaningful piece from home, or an implied look can be just as beautiful.
Your wardrobe should feel like you. Plus maybe one outfit that’s a little extra daring
FULLY GUIDED POSING
“But I don’t know how to pose!”
Perfect! You don’t need to!
Almost every person you see in my portfolio arrived feeling nervous and unsure about what to do in front of the camera.
Throughout your entire session, I’ll guide you from your head to your toes. I’ll show you exactly how to position your body, where to place your hands, what to do with your expression, and how to move naturally between poses.
I’ll demonstrate poses when needed, make adjustments as we go, and pay attention to the smallest details so you never have to wonder what you’re supposed to be doing.
Your only job is to breathe, trust the process, and let me take care of the rest.
You do not need modelling experience, flexibility, or confidence to create beautiful images.

AN EXPERIENCE CREATED AROUND YOU
Your comfort always comes first
Your boudoir experience is completely personalized to you.
Before your session, we’ll talk about the way you want your photographs to feel, the parts of yourself you love, anything you may feel nervous about, and the level of coverage or undress that feels comfortable for you.
Boudoir can be soft and romantic, bold and powerful, playful, moody, sensual, or a little bit of everything.
You are always in control of what you wear, which poses we create, and how much you choose to reveal. I will check in with you throughout your session, and you can change your mind about anything at any time.
Full nudity is never required to create beautiful, intimate photographs.
Your boundaries will always be respected, and your comfort will never be sacrificed for an image.
A PRIVATE JUDGMENT FREE STUDIO
A safe space to be completely yourself
Velvet Boudoir Studio is a private, inclusive, and judgment-free space located in Chatham, Ontario.
Your session is never rushed, and you won’t have an audience watching you pose. This time is intentionally reserved for you, allowing you to relax and become more comfortable as your session unfolds.
Your privacy also continues after your photographs are created.
Your images will never be shared without your permission. You are always in control of whether your photographs remain completely private or whether you choose to allow specific images to be featured.
Many of the experiences I photograph are never shared online and they are every bit as meaningful.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS
Thoughtfully created and professionally retouched
Your photographs are carefully created through flattering lighting, intentional posing, thoughtful styling, and attention to every detail.
After your session, each selected photograph is professionally hand-retouched in my signature style. Temporary blemishes, bruises, and other small distractions can be softened while keeping the details that make you look like you.
My goal is never to change your body or turn you into someone you don’t recognize.
Your final images should feel polished, luxurious, and magazine-worthy while still feeling unmistakably like you.

Approximately one week after your session, you’ll return to the studio for your private Image Reveal and Ordering Appointment.
This is where you’ll see your finished photographs for the first time—and for many clients, it becomes one of the most emotional and meaningful parts of the entire experience.
You’ll view your gallery, choose the images you love most, and decide how you would like to preserve them through digital collections and handcrafted premium products.
I’ll guide you through all of your options, answer your questions, and help you create a collection that feels perfect for you.
There is no pressure to decide what you love before you’ve had the opportunity to see your photographs.

I have answers…
My client closet is included at no additional cost with all in studio packages! You aren't forced to use it, you can totally bring your own outfits (or do a mix of both) but it's there should you want to use it! Every piece is worn with liners and is washed between each use!
My client closet has HUNDREDS of pieces and ranges from sizes XS-6X!
I have bodysuits, 2 and 3 piece sets, body chains, lux fluffy robes, jewelry, crowns and more!
After we're done glam you have some time to go through and try on some items to find what you like best! I know lingerie shopping can be super overwhelming, which is why this closet was essential for me to have for clients!

The studio building is located in Chatham ON, on the historical Victoria Ave. This truly unique space is exclusive to Velvet Boudoir Studio by Angela Speller Photography. The studio is a judgement free zone. All shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and ages (19+) are more than welcome! This is the perfect place to experience a boudoir session in a safe, private, clean, and inclusive environment.

We only share the images of clients who give us their written consent via an online image release, or your pre-shoot questionnaire. You are not expected or obligated to share your images!
While Angela does retain copyright as the photographer, it's your decision whether or not to allow her to share her art. Your session can be kept as private or as public as you choose. Your body, your choice, and we respect that! We will happily honour your wishes for privacy if you wish to keep your images for your eyes only.

Nope! That's our job! Throw those thoughts of "But I'm so awkward in front of the camera" away! Almost every one of our clients say this! It's totally normal to worry about how to pose, but let us reassure you, we are pros!
We will guide you through each pose throughout the entire session! All you have to do is show up for yourself, live in the moment, follow the guidance, have fun, and see how stunning you look from our points of view! The rest is up to us!

I only share our most tame work, but we do photograph artistic fine art nudes in a tasteful and timeless way.
You do not have to go nude during your session.
You can wear as little or as much as you want!
It's whatever makes YOU feel sexy and empowered!
If you do end up deciding that you would like to be a little more risqué, let us know! The poses will continue to be classy. You will NEVER be fully exposed. We keep sessions fun, yet very professional in every way.

All sessions include professional hair styling and makeup application at the studio or location of your session. This experience is about pampering you from start to finish, which will help you look and feel your best for your session! Keep in mind, you do not have to have super glamorous hair and makeup for these sessions. If you are a more natural gal, we can most definitely provide you a polished natural makeup look.
If you would rather do your own hair styling or make up application for your session, the session fee will remain the same. We totally understand if you like styling your hair a curtain way, and choose to forgo these professional services offered to you. If doing either your own hair or makeup, please complete it before arriving at the studio as to not take up your session time.
